Tips to Avoid Ending Up in Pain From Your Road Trip
As the country continues to open up, more and more people are hopping in their cars, hitting the open road, and driving cross country to vacation. Long drives are a great way to see our beautiful country, but sitting in one position for an extended period of time can cause a lot of muscle tightness!
Here are some tips to avoid ending up in pain by the end of your trip:
- Any opportunity you get to get out of the car, then take it! Every time you fill up for gas or stop at a rest area, do a few stretches and walk around for a couple of minutes.
- Bring your lacrosse ball and if you have space in your packed car, then bring your foam roller as well. Focus on your hip flexors, hamstrings, and calves, especially if you’re the driver!
- Make sure to stay hydrated. Dehydration can lead to muscle tightness or cramping.
- Use some kind of back support for your low back – the McKenzie roll will fit perfectly around your seat.
